So I decided to start Pepeze on the path of a Dancer. I’ve been wanting to give the job a go for a while, and even though I could do it as Pepean I wanted to do SOMETHING with Pepeze because I’d kinda forgotten about her... Hey bits of game data have feelings too! ... Don’t they?! XD

Anyway, I think as far as my character lore goes it’s time for Pepean and Pepeze to stop living in the shadows of their parents and start living their own lives. While I’d kind of done that with Pepeze with Chocobo Racing, I wanted to start advancing her character past that a little. Hey maybe the Chocobo Racing business is starting to run dry so Pepeze had to pursue another means of income, so she went back to adventuring, this time in a job she enjoys a lot more than magic.

Another reason I wanted Pepeze in this role was to fight against this whole “Only beautiful people can be Dancers, ergo not Lalafells!” stereotype that some people have. Now this only applies to a small few, most people just smile and joke about “dancing potatoes” and generally just have fun with it. However, there is that small section that think Lalas can’t do this job or wear the revealing armour just because they don’t have big boobies. I mean guys, come on, it’s 2020, grow up. So yeah, making Pepeze take on this role is kind of a middle finger to that small-minded meat-head stereotype.

In any case, let’s see where the Dancer career takes Pepeze in the future.

Alright, I’ll cool it with the *ahem* intimate stuff after this. The LAST thing I want is to become one of THOSE blogs. But I thought I’d do some expansion on the Terry/Pepeze image from before because I feel like I don’t do enough with Terry. Heck, I haven’t even properly explained that “Terry” is just his nickname! His real name is Wistsunn Loetrilhtsyn!

So yeah, just expanding on the last pic and furthering their reactions to this shocking turn of events. I’m not sure I’ll pull the trigger on making these two a couple or not. On the one hand they’re both characters I regularly play with and am VERY unlikely to delete. Plus, I did say I’d like to experiment with the idea of Pepeze dating a male, and somebody of the larger races for comedic effect. On the other hand I don’t really know how I’d handle this relationship, or how I’d handle Pepean’s reaction to one of his closest allies being involved with his sister. I also previously DID make a potential love interest for Terry, but she’s another one of those characters I rarely use now.

The idea of a Lalafell/Roegadyn relationship, particularly one where the Lala is female and the Roe is male, is one that amuses me because it brings up SO many questions, but again I’m not sure if THIS is the one I want to have as THAT relationship in my character lore. So I may keep it as just one awkward event that the two would never like to speak of again. We’ll see though.

Part 1 of what I’m hoping to become a mini saga, something I’ve been looking to do with my characters. Not just randomly posting disjointed bits of character lore then having to fill people in on my thought process behind them.

Anyway, while tending to her Racing Chocobo Pepeze encounters a strange Miqo’te girl. Though Gridania isn’t far from them she seems to have gotten herself lost. Just who is this strange girl and who is this “brother” she’s looking for? If you know my blog you can probably make a pretty good guess.

Happy Christmas Eve to you all! (I refuse to say “Happy Holidays” because I find it offensive). I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas (or whatever you celebrate this time of year), and a very Happy New Year!

For Christmas this year I thought I’d do something a little different and show how my Warriors of Light spend their “Starlight Celebrations”. For Pepean and Eliza this is their first Starlight Celebration as a bonded couple. Their friends and family thought it would be nice for the two of them to spend it together just the two of them. This was a wonderful celebration for Mr. and Mrs. Gogoan.

R’atohna has found a quiet spot with Misago where the two can just be together. Away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities during this time of year. For them silence is golden, and it’s nice to just take it easy.

Terry is getting drinks with some old friends of his to celebrate. He asked Pepeze to join him after hearing she wanted to give her brother and new sister-in-law some privacy this year, ergo was going to be alone. At first she declined, saying that she “didn’t want to intrude”, to that he told her “Nonsense! Ya Pepean’s sister, therefore ya MY sister as far as I’m concerned! Come join us an' have a drink and laugh lass!” She ended up having a wonderful time with everybody.

Selaine spend her “celebration” alone, closed off from everybody. It may sound depressing, however this is just the way she likes it. She’s happiest when she’s in her own company. Going out and being merry sounds disgusting to her.

I’m VERY happy with how each of these turned out, particularly the one of Terry, Pepeze and company. I worked really hard to get each of the separate images at similar angles in Group Pose to make it easier when editing them together. I think the end result was really good and worthwhile. I also really like the Squall jacket on Pepeze as a winter coat.

Happy New Year everybody! Hope you all had a great New Years whatever you did! Here’s to a great 2018!

So it stands to reason I’d do a “Heavensturn” image with my FFXIV characters. I threw around a couple of ideas of doing one big group photo but then I had the idea of making it more like a New Years party, with everybody socializing in different ways.

Pepean’s cracking the champagne open. Eliza’s reuniting with the Ashdale Brothers after not having seen them for ages, and is introducing them to Misago. Pepeze and Terry are having an... awkward moment of seeing each other again after their... Starlight Celebration mishap... This was the one I was sure I wanted to do from the get-go. I didn’t just want to throw that plot point away, it stood to reason that the two would find it hard to be near each other after that. It’s going to take some time for their friendship to be repaired. I’m honestly having way too much fun with this plotline. I feel it’s the most interesting thing I’ve done with my FFXIV character in a while.

It’s that time of year again! Today (November 2nd) is my birthday, and by extension it’s Pepean’s “Nameday” as they say in Eorzea! Gosh... I’m 27 years old now... I’m 3 years off 30... I’m getting old..

I don’t think I’ve ever actually established how old Pepean is... come to think of it I’ve never really thought about it. But he is an adult, I’d say around my age.

Just like every year I have one image of him celebrating with his friends, and one of him and Eliza “celebrating” in private. Actually, this would be his first “Nameday” with them as a married couple, which makes this even more special.

After going out for drinks with his mates for the Starlight Celebration and inviting Pepeze along... Terry is shocked to wake up the next morning to find her in bed with him... as is she... Neither one of them can fully remember how this came to be (or even how it’s physically possible), but one thing is for certain: If Pepean finds out... he’s likely going to murder Terry.

Before anybody says ANYTHING: They’re BOTH adults here! Nothing illegal happened!

Oh and take note, because this is one of the only times you’ll see Pepeze with her hair down!

The worst part of it all is... how well this picture actually turned out... So... Enjoy your Christmas with that mental image of a Lalafell and Roegadyn being intimate together!

Pepeze doing what she loves: Chocobo Racing!

So with Stormblood just around the corner I thought I’d do what I did way back when Heavensward was on its way and show the new looks I’m giving to my Warriors of Light (and Pepeze) when that game comes out.

I believe you’ve all seen Pepean’s new look plenty now, and there’s not really much else I can say on it. I’m considering having him shave his goatee when Stormblood does come out. Might be nice to have ONE of my male Warriors of Light without facial hair, XD

I think with the events of the Dragonsong War behind him R’atohna thought to tidy himself up a bit. Especially with his new relationship with Misago. I am going to miss his Matrix look, but I think this is a natural extension for the character. Might even have HIM shave his beard off rather than Pepean, but we’ll see.

Decided to have Eliza let her hair down and give it a bit of a cut. Figured she’d be tired of having too much hair getting in her way as she fights so would want it shorter. It’s reminiscent of her A Realm Reborn look but a bit shaggier as I want to give off the impression she took a blade and cut it herself.

I think while Terry enjoyed the attention he got from the ladies once he grew his hair back and let it grow longer, he wanted to go back to more of a Warrior look if he’s going to help liberate Ala Mhigo and Doma. He wants the Garleans to feel fear at the sight of him, not envy at the sight of his beautiful locks. HIS beard I’ll NEVER shave off though!

I had Selaine tie her hair back for similar reasons to Eliza. Plus she wants to try and make herself more appealing to Pepean. I think she’d tell her fellow Warriors of Light that it’s purely for practicality and that she has absolutely NO interest in fashion whatsoever, however DEEP down she does care at least a little bit about looking nice, and not just for Pepean.

Finally Pepeze. If you saw my Mother’s Day post you know that in my character lore for her she’s left her Black Magic studies behind and is now a Professional Chocobo Racer. I figure she’d also want to do her hair up as it just gets in the way when racing. From the angle I’ve got her at it looks like she and R’atohna have the same haircut, however I’ve given her the one with the bun at the back.

Saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 today. I absolutely loved it. So I thought seeing as I parodied the poster for Power Rangers in the past, why not do it again with Guardians? In this case it’s this poster:

Not quite as good as the Power Rangers one, but I still think I did a decent job with what I had available. I couldn’t think of anybody to be Baby Groot in this image though. I thought about using wind-up Yda, but never got around to it. Maybe I’ll add her in later on.

I really need to get off my lazy Lalafell arse at some point and get R’atohna, Eliza, Terry, and Selaine caught up with Pepean. I suppose when Stormblood comes out though they’ll speed up the process of getting there from Heavensward, like they did with A Realm Reborn when Heavensward came out.

Finally one last image of Pepean and Pepeze spending some time together as they remember their mother Ninisha Nisha. If you know anybody who has lost their mother recently please try and be there for them today, as it won’t be easy for them.

Happy Mother’s Day everybody! Just like with her brother, what better way to welcome a day celebrating mothers than with Pepeze visiting the grave of her deceased mother? Just like with Pepean I did this to remind people to think of those who have lost their mothers on this day, as it won’t be easy for them. I know Father’s Day isn’t easy for me... especially as I work in a card shop.

So, a couple of things to talk about here. The reason I’ve had Pepeze give up on her Black Mage training is because I just can’t push myself to bring her all the way through 2.0′s plot all the way up to 3.5 as I have enough characters to bring up to speed already. Plus, I think it’s a good message that sometimes your goals and dreams don’t work out, but you find happiness on another path.

I had her break up with her partner Miah for two reasons: A: I deleted the character because I have too many already and I wasn’t doing anything with her. 2: I don’t think enough people show that even same sex relationships have their problems. Every relationship does, no relationship is perfect.

Finally I wanted to expand a bit on Pepeze’s lore, or in fact the lore that’s created by her being Pepean’s sister. I know in canon ALL of our characters are Warriors of Light, but in my character lore Pepean is but Pepeze isn’t. As such she’s always going to live in the shadow of her older brother. He’s heralded as being this paragon of justice, whereas she is just among the common folk. I can imagine there would be a lot of pressure on her to succeed in magic given who her brother is, and as such it made all the more sense for her to leave it behind. My thought is that in taking up Chocobo Racing, Pepeze wanted to form her own identity as “Pepeze Peze: Chocobo Racer” not “Pepeze Peze: Younger sister to Warrior of Light Pepean Gogoan”. However, she doesn’t hold any ill will towards her brother for this, as she knows it’s not his fault that people treat her as such. If he was aware he’d tell people to stop and let her have her own identity. I’d like to think that she didn’t tell that many people about being his sister when she started Chocobo Racing for this reason. I’d also like to think that once her fame spreads as a Chocobo Racer she lets out the news of who her brother is, and once he finds out about her new career he comes to watch every single one of her big races, like a good brother.
